A cliff-top beach club stage dressed entirely in hand-knotted fibre art — crimson banner columns down the length of the deck, rope-wrapped posts and white macramé palms — built to hold from golden hour through a night DJ set.
What the client needed.
The stage at Bilem Beach sits on a cliff directly above the sea, and that location sets every constraint. Anything hung there takes the full afternoon sun, the salt and the onshore wind, and it has to read at three distances at once: close up from the deck, from the water below, and from the back of a crowd after dark. The venue did not want event dressing that gets struck the next morning — it wanted a permanent crafted identity for the space, one that looks finished when the deck is empty at sunset and still carries when the deck is full under stage lighting.
How we designed it.
We treated the stage as one continuous textile façade rather than a set of separate props. A run of hand-knotted fibre-art banner columns in crimson and rust gives the deck its vertical rhythm and its colour at distance — dense enough to hold under stage light, open enough in weave to let the wind pass through instead of fighting it. The venue’s existing posts and railings were wrapped by hand in natural rope, so the structure became part of the work instead of something to hide. White macramé palms, knotted from the same rope, break the red at ground level and carry the daytime version of the space. Two focal points anchor the composition: a hand-knotted rope monogram at the deck edge and a suspended mirrored centrepiece over the DJ booth. Every piece was made to measure in our Antalya atelier and installed before the season opened.
